The Bearhawk Patrol - Plans, Windshield and Kit

The Patrol is a tandem two seat high wing aircraft designed for comfort, endurance and fun The generous proportions of the cabin provide plenty of room for just about any sized pilot, a passenger (or two if they are small) and gear. The available visiblitiy is outstanding both on the ground and in the air. The Patrol's flight controls are light and very responsive at cruise and slow speeds. The low landing speeds are further enhanced by the use of the manually operated flaps. The trim lever is located at the top of the cabin for use by both pilot positions.

The Patrol can stay in the air a very long time. With the O-360 Lycoming pulled back for maximum endurance, a steady 100+ mph is maintianed and time aloft can be nearly 9 hours. The Patrol's 55 gallons of fuel ensures that there are not many places it can't reach and make it back home safely.

Most importantly the Patrol is a fun airplane to fly. The remarkable performance is easily utilized by the average pilot. The stick controls connect the pilot to the aircraft in a way that a yoke can't. The Patrol can land in many fields that you would not even consider with other airplanes the 18 feet of available flaps see to that. A whole new world of aviation is opened up to the private pilot with this plans built aircraft.

Description:
~The kit includes all parts and assemblies that are unique to the patrol. All steel parts are primed and painted. Aluminum parts are primed as needed before assembly. Left and right wings are assembled with skins riveted in place, except for bottom skin from rib 2 to tip rib. Which is dimpled and ready to rivet in place after systems inside the wing are installed.
~ Fuel tanks are supplied in finished condition with mounting strap material. (no flow fence material supplied) fiberglass wing tips are included.
~All parts less standard hardware as shown on drawing #2 through #16 will be supplied.
~Ailerons and flaps are assembled.
~The fuselage frame, tail feathers, landing gear, tail spring, door and window frames, control systems and seat frames as shown on drawings #17 - 31 will be in finished condition.
~ Aluminum material will be supplied for instrument panel, boot cowl and engine cowl.
~Also supplied is a motor mount for lycoming 0235 to 0360 Dyn type I, stainless steel firewall, fiberglass nose bowl, and plexiglas windshield.

The purchase of this quick build kit will eliminate the need for welding and building of assembly jigs and fixtures. For a basic airplane about 70% of the work is done.
